Timothy Liesching

Timothy Liesching, MD, CPE, FCCP Vice President and Chief Medical Officer

Timothy Liesching, MD joined BayCare Medical Group in October 2024 as chief medical officer for BayCare Medical Group. Dr. Liesching joins us from Burlington, Massachusetts’ Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, an academic tertiary care hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center, with more than 20 years of experience as an expert in pulmonary and critical care medicine. His leadership approach not only prioritizes positive patient outcomes, but it also centers caregivers. Dr. Liesching received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, completed his residency at Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and completed his fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital, Brown University. Along with being board-certified in Critical Care Medicine, Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease, Dr. Liesching has been an Associate Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine.

Garrick “Gary” Richards – Chief Operating Officer

Garrick “Gary” Richards joined BayCare Medical Group as its chief operating officer in February 2024. Gary joins us from Phoenix, Arizona’s Banner Medical Group where he oversaw operations for more than 1,600 providers and 2,700 associates and clinicians across six states as their chief operating officer. In his five-year tenure with Banner, prior to stepping into the COO role in 2022, Gary was also Banner’s executive director for practice advancement and operations, senior director of practice advancement and senior operations director of primary care. Additionally, Gary brings to BMG a host of ambulatory experience as OhioHealth’s former vice president of development and ambulatory medical campus operations. Gary received his Master of Business Administration from Columbus, Ohio’s Franklin University along with his Bachelor of Science in Education from The Ohio State University.

Dr. Marcy Baker

Marcy Solomon Baker, MD - Medical Director, Pediatric Primary Care

Marcy Solomon Baker, MD, is currently the Medical Director of Pediatric Services for BayCare Medical Group and still actively sees pediatric patients at the BMG Hyde Park Office. She was the Assistant Medical Director for Pediatrics from 2014-2017. Dr. Baker received her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Emory University in Atlanta, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Baker is a past president of the Hillsborough County Pediatric Society and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a member of the BMG EMR committee, compensation committee and the pediatric subcommittee.

Dr. Nick Colovos 

Nick Colovos, MD, MBA, FACEP - Chief Experience Officer

Nick Colovos, MD, MBA, is board certified in emergency medicine. He joined BayCare Medical Group as our chief experience officer. He brings his expertise to us from Emory Physician Group Practices as its chief quality officer and is here to support us by ensuring our physicians remain engaged and resilient.

Dr. Colovos has more than 20 years of experience as a physician in large, complex health systems just like BayCare. Along with his work as a physician, he has also been an educator since 1998 and is a veteran of our United States Navy Reserves where he served as a lieutenant commander in its medical corps.

Dr. Colovos joined the Emory University School of Medicine faculty in July 2014. He received his MD at the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed his emergency medicine residency at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Toledo Ohio 1996. Also, in July 2014, he received his MBA from Florida International University. His work experiences in the academic, public and private sectors of medical care have allowed him to develop a unique perspective on the business of healthcare and its delivery to patients.

Stephanie Fenlon, DO, MMM, FACOI - Medical Director, Primary Care

Dr. Stephanie Fenlon is board certified in internal medicine and has a demonstrated history of working in outpatient health care. Dr. Fenlon received her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University and a Master’s in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University. She joined BayCare Medical Group (BMG) in 2018 from Diagnostic Clinic Medical Group, where she gained experience as an Associate Medical Director and Medical Director. Dr. Fenlon has been active in BMG, serving on the Physician Engagement Task Force, the BMG Access Task Force, and the Physician Advisory Council. She attended the OneTeam Leadership program and is an alumnus of the BayCare Physician Leadership Institute.

Kevin Garner

Kevin Garner, MD, FACC - Medical Director, Medical Specialties

Kevin Garner, MD, FACC, served as the Chief of Cardiology at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida from 2012 through 2015. He is also the director of the Congestive Heart Failure program at St. Anthony’s. He was a past president of the Pinellas County Medical Association and former editor of the Pinellas Medical Journal. Dr. Garner is, at present, an adjunct clinical associate professor with the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in Bradenton, Florida, and a former clinical assistant professor at the University of South Florida. Dr. Garner is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He currently is the Medical Director for Medical Specialties with BayCare Medical Group.

Nicole Gilg Gachiani

Nicole Gilg Gachiani, MD, FAAFP, MPH Medical Director, Quality

Dr. Nicole Gilg Gachiani is board-certified in family medicine. She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology and preprofessional studies at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana. She then earned her Doctor of Medicine, along with a Master’s in Public Health from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She continued her medical education by completing a family medicine residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. Dr. Gilg is also certified as a physician executive, serving as Medical Director of Quality and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Healthcare Executives, and the American Association of Physician Leadership.

Dr. HaiDang Hoang

HaiDang Hoang, DO - Medical Director, Primary Care

HaiDang Hoang, DO, is board certified in Family Medicine and is currently the Primary Care Medical Director for Polk and East Hillsborough Counties. He graduated from University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree. He completed his residency at St. Petersburg General Hospital where he also served as the Chief Resident.

Dr. Hoang has a strong interest in physician leadership. He is a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) and earned a Master of Medical Management (MMM) from University of Southern California and graduated from University of Florida-College of Business in 2019 with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and Florida State University-College of Law in 2020 with a Juris Master (JM) degree in Healthcare Regulation. He is a current member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Association for Physician Leadership.

Dr. Rebecca Marshall

R. Holly Marshall, MD - Medical Director, Primary Care

Rebecca H. Marshall, MD, is a fifth-generation physician in her family. She graduated from Goucher College Phi Beta Kappa and then attended the Medical College of Pennsylvania. She did her residency in Internal Medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After her residency, she stayed on as Chief Resident at Albert Einstein Medical Center after which she moved to Florida and started her practice with the St. Petersburg Medical Clinic. She sat on the Board for the clinic and was head of recruitment. Subsequently, the clinic was merged with the Suncoast Medical Clinic. She remained on the Board and was an officer of the clinic, serving as the secretary through the merger with BayCare and for the first five years past the merger. Dr. Marshall also served on the Board of Trustees for St. Anthony’s Hospital for five years. She chaired the Quality and Safety committee for St. Anthony’s and the Credentialing Committee for the hospital. She was a member of the Medical Staff Board at St. Anthony’s. She presently sits on the Benefits Community Council for BayCare. After 28 years of active practice, she was given the opportunity to become the Primary Care Medical Director for the West region for BayCare Medical Group.

Nirav Y. Raval, MD, FACC, Medical Director, BMG Heart & Vascular Institute

Dr. Nirav Y Raval is a board-certified, advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist who most recently served as the Thoracic Transplantation Director at Advent Health Transplant Institute in Orlando, Florida (2013-2024). Prior to his time at Advent, he worked at the Piedmont Heart Institute in Atlanta, GA, where he helped found the Heart Transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Support Programs. Additionally, he served as Medical Director of Critical Care at the Piedmont Heart Institute. He was also involved in clinical transplantation and the formation of the Heart Failure Center at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, in Atlanta.

Dr. Raval earned a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Life Sciences from Kent State University and a Medical Doctorate from the Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine. After completing Internal Medicine residency at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, he completed both Cardiovascular Disease, Advanced Heart Failure and Heart Transplantation fellowships at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In addition to directing one of the fastest growing heart transplant programs in the country, Dr. Raval has contributed to the advanced heart failure and transplant community by authoring and reviewing numerous abstracts and papers in multiple societies. His heart failure research interests are in device therapy for heart failure. His other areas of research interest include donor recipient matching, donor management, and non-invasive assessment of graft injury. Since 2020, he has served as a national board member of Mended Hearts, Inc., a patient advocacy group. Dr. Raval‘s board focus has been on increasing patient awareness of heart failure and its therapies including transplantation, mechanical support, and the role of clinical research.

Mani Vindhya, MD, Medical Director, Anesthesia

Mani Vindhya, MD joined BMG on November 2 as medical director of Anesthesiology Services. He has rare experience as both a practicing cardiothoracic anesthesiologist with NAPA and in operations leading multiple innovations in the field. In this capacity, he leads our providers, collaborates to improve operational efficiencies, and continues to grow our cadre of services.

Dr. Vindhya has been recognized by Marquis’ Who’s Who Top Doctors 2021 with nominations for the Who’s Who in America Marquis 2022 edition. For five consecutive years (2019-2023), he has also been peer nominated for Tampa’s Top Doctors.

Additionally, for his outstanding clinical and administrative talents, Dr. Vindhya has also been designated as a Fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography. Dr. Vindhya is a Yale alum who completed his residency in anesthesiology and fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesiology at the renowned university, where he graduated with the Vincit Omnia Award.

Ruvan Wickramasinghe

Ruvan Wickramasinghe, MD, FHM - Medical Director, Hospitalist Program

Ruvan Wickramasinghe, MD, FHM, graduated from Harvard College with a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in Psychology and attended the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center of New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he received the Joseph N. Muschel Housestaff Award for “qualities as a skilled physician and an empathic, compassionate human being who exemplifies the highest standards of medical care.” He has published research in peer-reviewed journals and is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine with Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He is currently the Physician Champion of Mease Countryside Hospital’s Schwartz Center Rounds®, which originated at Massachusetts General Hospital and supports healthcare professionals in providing care with compassion and empathy.  He has been recognized as a Fellow of Hospital Medicine and is a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine and American College of Physicians.

Currently, Dr. Wickramasinghe serves as the Medical Director of the BayCare Medical Group Hospitalist Program.
