BayCare Health System is committed to the communities we serve by training the next generation of physicians through our teaching hospitals, Morton Plant Hospital and Winter Haven Hospital. Our residency programs are a blend of quality hospitals and clinic facilities.

We offer a variety of postgraduate residency programs which train professionals to provide exceptional care to hospitalized and ambulatory patients. Our experienced leaders challenge as well as support the trainees in our current Family Medicine, Sports Medicine and Pharmacy residency program with new Pediatric and Psychiatry Residency programs now forming.

Faculty Position - Family Medicine Residency Program with OB Experience

Faculty Position - Family Medicine Residency Program Opportunity with OB Experience in Winter Haven, Florida 

BayCare Medical Group (BMG) is a physician-led medical group seeking a board certified/board eligible Family Medicine physician with OB experience for a core facility position in our developing residency program in Winter Haven, Florida.

In collaboration with the Florida State University College of Medicine, the primary mission and responsibility of the FSU Family Medicine Residency Program at Winter Haven Hospital and of its faculty is to provide a dynamic, professional learning environment, grounded in the concepts of life-long learning, teaching, quality improvement, evidence-based medicine, and scholarship. Our goal is to recruit and train the next generation of Family Physicians in Florida, Polk County, and the BayCare System. As such, the significant majority of the faculty and residency clinic’s efforts will be devoted to these pursuits.

Practice Details:

Opportunity to help develop a new Family Medicine Residency Program (welcomed first class of residents July 2020)

  • Call is shared with physician members of the entire family medicine department
  • Noncompetitive, supportive environment
  • Adult inpatient and/or OB privileges preferred
  • Precept residents regularly in clinic
  • Perform and precept many office procedures
  • Play a significant role in curriculum building and resident career choice education

Possess excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills and proficiency with electronic documentation is required.

Position Requires: Board Certified in Family Medicine with either a fellowship in OB or able to prove at least 60 vaginal deliveries within the past 36 months.
